In accordance with Law 34/2002 of 11th July, on Electronic Commerce and Information Society Services (hereinafter, LSSI), having regard to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 27th April 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter, GDPR), and Organic Law 3/2018 of 5th December, on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (hereinafter, LOPDGDD), explicit consent must be obtained from users of all websites that use dispensable cookies, before they browse the website.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about the visitors to their websites, and to ensure they work properly.

These devices permit the web server to record some data about users, such as their preferences for viewing the pages on that server, username and password, the products they are most interested in, etc.

ACCORDING TO PURPOSE

First party cookies: are the ones that are sent to the users’ devices from a device or domain that is managed by the website publisher and provides the service requested by the user.

Third party cookies: are the ones that are sent to the users’ devices from a device or domain that is not managed by the website publisher, but by another entity that processes the data that is obtained via the cookies.

ACCORDING TO STORAGE TIME:

Session cookies: are a type of cookiethat are designed to compile and store information while the user is browsing a website.

Persistent cookies: are a type of cookie where the data remains stored in the device and can be accessed and processed for the period of time defined by the cookie manager. This can vary from a few minutes to several years.
